Summer Eating + Weekly Workouts

Good Morning!

Today is one of those days where I just wanted to crawl back under the sheets and skip the workout all together. It is rainy and gloomy but I told myself how awful a muggy afternoon workout would be and this did just the trick to get me moving!

A little motivation never hurt anyone. 🙂

I was kind of MIA for the past few days. We had a pretty busy weekend with B’s birthday celebration, my good friends baby being born and a baby shower {twins!}! It was certainly the weekend of celebration!

I always hear people saying they indulge around the holidays, well I think I indulge more around the summer months. BBQ, ice cream, wine, wine, wine….

Don’t get me wrong I eat for enjoyment and when the moment is right I celebrate but I just feel I have this saying in the back of my mind like, ” oh, it’s summer, live a little!” more than I do around the holidays!

Anyone else feel this way?

Anyway I just wanted to check in and share some of my workouts which I have been doing as of late and I hope you find some you can use in your own routine

You can also follow me on Dailymile or Twitter for my daily post of workouts!

Sunday: Failed long run. 4.25 miles, knee was killing me. Did some P90X Legs and Back. Watched how I did the exercises.

Monday : 4 mile run. My knee felt 100% better after using some KT Tape, it made the knee feel amazing!

Tuesday: P90X Core Synergines. Ow. Is all I have to say. Felt so good the next day!

Wednesday: 5 mile run + P90X Arms and Shoulders. I loved doing the strength and cardio combo. Running seems easier when your stronger :).

Thursday: P90x Kenpo + Ab Ripper X. Almost made this a rest day but I am glad I did not rest! This workout always makes me feel strong!

Friday: 4 mile run + P90X Legs and Back. I was ready for this run and able to push through. Pushing through makes you feel so much better at the end of the workout!

Saturday: Rest

Sunday: 11 mile run. I was not able to get it done during the morning, but I was able to squeeze it in during the evening. I felt really good through out and I was able to KT Tape my leg which made it feel extra better :).

Weekly Workout 10/21-11/4

This might be a little late, but better late than never 🙂 Last week I had a great week of workouts and I thought I would share these before this week is over! I got in some great runs and some hard P90X training sessions.

You can also follow me on Dailymile or Twitter for my daily post of workouts!

Monday~ 3 mile run + P90X Bicep & back. The run was pretty tough for some reason.

Tuesday~ P90X Kenpo + Ab Ripper X. The next day I really felt this!

Wednesday~ 5 mile run + 3 ish miles in the evening with the 5k group. Felt really strong on the 5 miler, the knee was a little sore but I just pushed and pushed and felt great afterwards.

Thursday~ 3 mile run + P90X Arms & Shoulders. Legs were pretty heavy after the runs on Wednesday but I kept going 🙂

Friday~ P90X Plyometrics. Super tough, but super effective. I feel I am still sore from this workout!

Saturday~ Rest

Sunday~ Ran for 4.25 miles + P90X Legs and Back. I was suppose to go for 10 miles, but the knee was killing me! In the past I would have freaked out, but I just went with the flow and realized that 4.25 was better than none!

Weekly Workouts 10/21- 10/27

Well after this post, my workouts have changed quite a bit! I have been doing P90X and have absolutely fallen in love with the program.  After just this week I feel so much stronger. Can’t wait to share more in the future!

I also took 2 rest days this week and that was kinda difficult at first, but I am realizing with doing P90X I need this break and in the long run it helps my performance

Monday: P90X Shoulders and Back + 4.62 Walk. I read when I was walking and still kept a great pace. My arms and back got a really good workout!

Tuesday: Rest. Was just not feeling it.

Wednesday: P90X Plyometrics. Kicked. My. Butt. Loved this workout and can’t wait to do it again next week!

Thursday: 3 mile walk. I was sore but not too bad, but I still thought I would take it easier

Friday: 3 mile  (.25 walk/.25 run) + P90X Shoulders and Arms. I really enjoyed this workout! Such a great combo of cardio and strength.

Saturday: Rest.

Sunday: 3.25 miles (.25 run/ .25 walk) + P90X Legs and Back. I loved doing this type of workout so much on Friday I decided to repeat it again today!

Monday~ 4 mile walk with P90X Arms This was the first day when it felt like fall and I was not going to not go outside! The arms were killer but totally worth it! 🙂

Tuesday~ This was suppose to be a 5 mile run but my legs were still sore from the 12 (I ran a pretty hilly course), so I ran when I could and walked when I felt I needed too 🙂

Wednesday~ My legs were pretty shot still but I got in the 6 miles and just glad to be done!

Thursday~ YES!! I was pumped for some yoga I love the P90x yoga, you get a great sweat for about 50 minutes and then a wonderful, much needed cool down and stretch. Made. My. Day.
