Weekend Catch Up!

Good Morning!

Man I can’t believe the weekend is over and we are already at Monday!

How was your weekend?

Let’s do a quick recap of the weekend!

Friday: I worked at night and came home to crash early!

Saturday: I worked all day again but this was a special day! This was the day that “My First 5k” started. We had a great turn out, 15 people. Everyone was super excited to get going and running. With the great turn out and the great weather, everyone had a blast. We have multiple running levels and just being out with all of the different levels was very inspiring. After the run, I worked until 6, picked up diner at Chipotle, and watched basketball.

Sunday: Long run (11 miles, more on that in a bit), and then work!

As you can see all I do is work! I love the work though, the people, the atmosphere, what I sell and what I do is just perfect for where I am at in my life right now!

So back to talking about the long run.

Yeah.

So yesterday morning I was planning on running 11 miles before work. I was kinda nervous for a few reasons. 1. This would be my longest run since the marathon 2. I was going to be running outside.

With how the weather has been (freezing), I have been running on the treadmill a lot. At first I hated it, then I started to change my mind and I started to actually enjoy the treadmill. You can change the speed, you don’t have to worry about the weather and the elements. It may be boring but it is so reliable!

I started out and realized that my legs felt great and the weather was a little warm and windy. As the run progressed I decided to run in a direction that I typically don’t run in. Worst. Decision. Ever. The wind was really picking up and I felt I was getting beat, and the direction I was running was beyond hilly. We are talking a 20% hill incline. I am not a fan of doing hills and a long run. I was miserable.

I hate complaining but after the hills and the wind I was spent and very sore!

I cut the run to 9 miles and made myself promise that I would finish up the 2 when I got home from work.

After a fast day at work, I came home and B and took off for a 2 mile run together. We never run together so this was super nice!

I was glad after the 2 mile run that my earlier morning run was cut short! Running with B was great and he really pushed me to go faster!

I am not working as much this week and I am pumped to have a nice week off and be able to blog more!
